Stones Of Remembrance Our Statement of Faith

 

• We believe there is only one God, who has created all things for His glory and honor. God has revealed Himself in three persons as Father, Jesus Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit.

• We believe the Bible is the infallible, all inspired written Word of God. The Bible is our guide on how to live and is the final authority on all matters for which it teaches.

• We believe God is maker of heaven & earth, all things visible & invisible. He created all people in His image. He made man (male) & woman (female), both with value & dignity.

• We believe the first man, Adam & the first woman, Eve sinned and fell from perfection, ever since all have sinned & fallen short of God’s plan.

• We believe Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, taught, did miracles and willingly died for all our sins on the cross.  He rose from the dead. He ascended to heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father as our advocate and mediator.

• We believe because of sin all are lost & deserve God’s judgment. However, God in His love & grace gives salvation & eternal life to anyone who trusts in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for them. Salvation cannot be earned through personal goodness or human effort. It is a gift that is received by humble repentance and faith in Jesus and His finished work on the cross.

• We believe that each believer in Jesus Christ should confess they are a sinner, repent, accept Jesus as Lord and Savior and be baptized through immersion in water as a public demonstration of one’s faith in Christ.

• We believe the Holy Spirit convicts people of sin & draws them to Christ. When a person comes to faith in Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes to live with in them. We believe every believer should experience the release and empowering of the Holy Spirit which indwells them after committing their life to Jesus. Believers are to earnestly desire and seek the manifestation of spiritual gifts to serve God in power, building up and strengthening the entire church.

• We believe everyone is created with special giftings to be used to serve God in a way that blesses others and expands the Kingdom.

• We believe that believers of Jesus are members of the church worldwide and should gather with other believers at a local congregation to pray, worship, praise God and encourage each other. We believe believers should participate in sharing Communion (bread & the fruit of the vine) to remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

• We believe God himself designed marriage as the exclusive, covenantal union of one man and one woman. We believe sexual relationships are to be experienced only within the marriage of one man and one woman.

• We believe Jesus will one day return for His own.
